On Monday, Sasha had to make a decision. When we got to the orphanage and Tania told us he had talked with the French couple again and they weren't being very helpful. Tania does not like the French couple.
The pyschologist, the inspector and Oleg went into a room together and Sasha agreed to be adopted. Oleg reminded him that it was going to be very important that he say yes at the court hearing also. Sasha said that he would. Both kids then had to go into a different room and write a letter stating they would like to be adopted. Oleg said that when Sasha was done he was a changed boy. It looked like a load had been taken off his shoulders. They both came downstairs when they were done and they both looked very happy.
That afternoon we spent a while picking names for them. The kids from Sumy like to get American names. It was hilarious. The kids decided they would like to keep their Ukranian names for their first name but would like American middle names. Sasha decided on Alexander Joseph Harris. It was funny, we made up a list of boys names and he ran off and conferred with his friends, then Tania came and crossed off a bunch of names. We had four names to choose from and ended picking Joseph.
Tania is going to be Tatiana Vicki Harris. We are not sure why she likes Vicki so much but her friends did help her to decide. (She almost picked Esther -- Mom I sure you would approve of that name), Sasha came close to picking George.
We played the game Greedy with Sasha's friends afterwords and got to know Sergei, Victor and another Sasha a little bit better. I think the kids had fun.

But Sasha George Harris sounds so sophisticated. LOL! Congrats to you. Glad that you can breathe a sigh of relief over that. If you can get to a computer, you'll have to take Sasha to the Roger's blog so he can catch a glimpse of what it is like for a boy after adoption in the USA.
Congratulations! We have been on pins and needles the past couple of days wondering what Sasha would decide. So happy things worked out - and we can't wait to meet our new cousins!
I am so happy he decided to be adopted. I think all of us watching your blog are breathing a sigh of relief. Good luck with everything and post lots! You're our connection with the Ukraine right now!
Love,
Wendy

I'm so relieved that he came to this choice on his own. It is so important that "they" want this. We have been so worried over here. What a sigh of relief. The fun stuff will start happening now!
